Samsung Gulf Electronics has rolled out Arabic language support for its Galaxy AI-powered Call Screening feature, extending one of its flagship artificial intelligence tools to Arabic-speaking users across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The update is designed to improve how users handle incoming calls by providing a real-time transcript of a caller’s reason for calling before the recipient decides whether to answer. The feature is especially useful in the GCC, where calls from delivery companies, banks, businesses and unfamiliar numbers are common.

By adding Arabic, Samsung is further localising its Galaxy AI platform to better serve regional users and improve accessibility across the Middle East.

Managing calls in a native language

Fadi Abu Shamat, Vice President and Head of the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said the company is committed to making its AI innovations more relevant to customers in the region. He noted that the addition of Arabic lets more users manage calls in their native language, giving them greater control over incoming communications while reinforcing Samsung’s vision of delivering Galaxy AI experiences tailored to local needs.

How the feature works

The Call Screening feature is available on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and can be activated through the device settings by downloading the preferred language pack. With the latest update, it now supports 16 languages and 23 language and dialect variations.

When a call comes in, Galaxy AI answers on the user’s behalf and asks the caller to explain the purpose of the call. The device then generates a live transcript, letting users review the information before choosing to answer, reject the call or reply with a message.

Samsung said only the exchange between the caller and the AI assistant is recorded, and the recording ends automatically once the user answers. Users can also enable automatic screening for all incoming calls or apply the feature selectively.

The rollout marks another step in Samsung’s wider strategy to expand language support within its Galaxy AI ecosystem while delivering AI-powered experiences that better match the preferences and everyday needs of users across the GCC and the broader Middle East.
